Changes of the indices of the level of endogenous intoxication in 122 patients with an alcoholic lesion of the liver have been studied. It has been established that a high level of endogenous intoxication is identified in these patients connected with a reduction of the concentration of endogenous albumin in the peripheral blood, due to an accumulation of molecules of medium mass, a decrease of the effective concentration of albumin and the toxin-binding ability of albumin.
