Purpose – to objectify the results of the published clinical studies of L-arginine effectson the course of cardiovascular diseases.Conclusions. The results of the studies confirm the effectiveness of L-arginine incardiovascular diseases, in particular in hypertension, coronary heart disease, heartfailure, peripheral artery disease. Correction of endothelial dysfunction should bea routine and mandatory part of the therapeutic and prophylactic programs in thetreatment of the patients with cardiovascular pathology. The practitioner mustremember that only to stimulate depleted endothelium is ineffective, it is extremelyimportant to provide a substrate from which the endothelium can synthesize thenecessary substances.
