The article presents the results of calculating the means of collective thermal protection of the workplace of a metal and alloy smelter in a foundry. It is established that the complex application of thermal insulation of the melting furnace and the heat shield made it possible to completely eliminate the impact of thermal radiation and heated surfaces of the equipment on the employee.
