The article examines the impact of sanctions on the economic security of Russia, cited a number of factors that have a destabilizing effect on the country's economy. Subtypes of sanctions are highlighted and characterized. A specific example is given of how the US and EU sanctions applied in 2014– 2020 affected the economy of our country and what retaliatory sanctions our country put forward.
