The issues of providing medical care to patients with mental disorders are of exceptional medical and social importance. The aim of the study was to analyze the current state of medical care for psychiatric patients under emergency medical care (EMC) conditions. We used regulatory, statistical and analytical methods. The gaps of the normative legal support of the activities of the teams in the provision of ambulance care for patients with mental disorders and behavioral disorders are considered. In order to improve legislation in the field of ambulance care, it was proposed to amend the Procedure for the provision of emergency, including specialized medical care, approved by the Order of the Ministry of Health of Russian Federation dated 06.06.2013 No. 388n “On the Approval of the Procedure for the Provision of Emergency Care, Including Specialized Medical Care”.
