The article proposes to consider the results of the implementation of the procedure for assessing the comparative ecological and economic efficiency of municipal districts in two regions – Krasnodar Region and Rostov Region. The author’s technique is based on the data envelopment analysis with checking the initial statistical data to meet the requirements of this type of analysis. The criterion for dividing the objects of assessment into effective and ineffective is defined as the product of the vector of the set of the above indicators and the vector of coefficients. The weight vector is unknown in a linear programming problem. The resulting system of relative assessments reflects the level of efficiency for each of the compared districts which is the highest possible, provided that its production capabilities are limited by the indicators of the entire assessed population of district. As a result of meeting the requirements for the initial data, calculations of the comparative technological efficiency of 80 municipal districts were performed. According to the calculations (using the DEAP program), the average value of the comparative technological efficiency of municipal districts was 0.67. The coastal areas of the Krasnodar region received estimates close to the average value, the coastal areas of the Rostov region showed better results.
