The article considers the importance of using lexicographic material in the process of language training of students-economists. It describes in detail the process of lexicographic actualization of individual lexical units of socio-economic sphere on the basis of comparative analysis of the registers of comprehensive dictionaries of the beginning of the XX century – the beginning of the XXI century.
