So then I left the factories. I didn't want to work in the factories any more because I was sick and tired to talk to myself and feel that the machine was so cold. … So, I said, “I'm gonna get the children [and open a day care center], and I'm gonna pretend I'm teaching them but I'm gonna teach myself.” And I started with a picture dictionary and I'd say, “This is the word that goes with A.” It became like a game. The more I did it, the more it became alive in my mind.
