An experiment was carried out to determine the effect of certain factors on the consistency of setting of a machine tool handwheel. A half‐replicate of a 2 7 factorial design was used, confounded into 4 blocks of 16 elements. The design, analysis, and interpretation of the experiment are described in this article.
