SUMMARY Three examples of reliability data sets are discussed. Stochastic process models are used to describe repairable systems. The problems encountered in the analysis of failure time data are considered in particular when censoring is an important feature. Finally the assessment of system reliability is investigated by prediction of the renewal function.
