SUMMARY The game of liar dice is described, including several slight variants. For one standard version the numbers of possible ways of improving a holding when told the truth are given. It is seen that the optimum number of dice to throw sometimes varies in a counter‐intuitive way. Some suggestions are also made for improving a holding when not told the truth.
