Summary Edwards' test for seasonality and a suggested alternative likelihood ratio test are compared. The tests are almost identical for samples of 200 observations or more, but for small samples the likelihood ratio test is considerably superior. Modified percentage points are presented which makes Edwards' test usable with small numbers of observations. A computer algorithm is available for the likelihood ratio test.
