Summary A model has been developed to reproduce temperature behaviour in respect of the variations that occur from day to day, month to month and year to year. The model has been designed to cover all times of year, but searching quantitative study has so far been confined to the winter months, these being particularly crucial to the Gas Industry. The structure of the model is explained and a description is given of how the model was fitted, evaluated and simulated. Results are presented for Renfrew, Bradford and Hastings weather stations.
