Data were collected on the average number of eggs per egg mass, the percentage of eggs successfully fertilized, and early mortality within the egg mass. A dilute solution of neutral red was used to mark tadpoles for estimates of population size. An average of 96% of the eggs and larvae died in four ponds before metamorphosis was complete.
