Using a simple olfactometer, it was found that traces left by crawling larvae of Trogoderma granarium lure other Trogoderma granarium larvae more than various forms of wheat tested. The power of attraction of these traces was compared quantitatively to the power of attraction of minced larvae. Only the latter could, in certain quantities, counteract and overcome the lure of the traces of Trogoderma granarium.
