A digital computer was developed which uses the Okanoue equation for evaluating the total potential solar radiation striking a point on the surface of the earth daily between 60° N and 60° S latitude, taking into account solar declination, radius vector, latitude, day length, azimuth from N and slope. Output consists of the relative insolation striking a sloping site expressed as a percentage of that striking a flat exposure at the same geographical location, elevation and time. Results may be obtained on a daily basis, a yearly basis, or a seasonal basis. Also, daily or weekly average day lengths can be obtained.
