A Java‐based program is presented that provides a visualisation tool for display of and comparison between classification hierarchies. Taxa, or groups of taxa, can be tracked across multiple, overlapping classifications. Recognition of congruence and dissimilarity between classifications can be visually assessed through pattern matching. Software development, testing, and operation of the tool are discussed, together with potential applications.
