A structural quality/quantity choice model is developed to evaluate the impact of improved fiber quality and the resulting economic surplus under biotechnological scenarios. Two major biotechnology scenarios are considered for a comparative analysis of fiber quality improvement. Results show impacts on fiber quality improvement and economic returns.
