Summary Bittrich, V. & Stevens, P. F.: Lectotypification of the names Clusia major and C. minor (Clusiaceae). ‐ Taxon 47: 117–122. 1998. ‐ ISSN 0040‐0262. The lectotypification of Clusia major L., the type of Clusia L., is examined. It is shown that the lectotypes hitherto proposed should be superseded; a new lectotype is designated. As a consequence, C. subg. Thysanoclusia and C. sect. Stauroclusia become C. subg. Clusia and sect. Clusia respectively. The correct name for C. sect. Euclusia , nom. inval., is C. sect. Chlamydoclusia. An earlier lectotype designation for C. minor is superseded as the holotype still exists. A lectotype for C. plukenetii Urb. is also designated.
