An article on botany, written by George A. W. Arnott and ultimately published in the seventh edition of the Encyclopaedia britannica in 1842, first appeared as a preprint a decade earlier, being effectively published on 9 Mar 1832. Arnott validly published numerous subfamily names, many of which are presently attributed to later authors.
