Summary A revised computer system for generating international registries of cultivars is described. The system implements INGRES (Relational Technologies Inc.) a powerful relational database management system package. It is fully integrated from all aspects, including data input and report generation. The user may customize his own reports if desired. The system allows for the incorporation of information on gene transfer from remote taxa in cultivar generation and thus is capable of documenting various biotechnological methods in modern breeding approaches.
