Summary Stearn, W. T.: The gender of the generic name Onosma (Boraginaceae). – Taxon 42: 679–681. 1993.‐ISSN 0040‐0262. Generic names ending in ‐osma , a transcription of Greek osmê (smell), have been treated as of feminine gender except Onosma which had a neuter gender. It is proposed that for uniformity and simplicity Onosma should be treated as feminine.
