Summary Armada, J. & Barra, A.: On Aloysia Palau (Verbenaceae). ‐ Taxon 41: 88–90. 1992. ‐ ISSN 0040‐0262. Aloysia was first published by Palau, not Jussieu nor Persoon as commonly listed. Subsequently L'Héritier published Verbena triphylla for the same species. The correct name for the economically important lemon verbena in Aloysia is A. citrodora Palau, and in Lippia it is L. triphylla (L'Hér.) Kuntze.
