Summary The existing lectotypification of C. sativus L. has been examined. The choice of lectotype, based on the phrase name of C. sativus , is questioned. It is proposed that this lectotype is rejected and superseded by the designation of a new lectotype, based on a specimen of C. sativus L. from the Burser Herbarium (UPS).
