Summary The recently published Report of the Committee on Generic Typification did not deal adequately with the case for abandoning that part of Art. 10 of the Code that reads “the type of the name of a genus … is a species” nor did it provide examples of the effect of its various Proposals to amend the Code. This paper attempts to deal with this inadequacy and meet this omission.
