Summary Peperomia poeppigii Miq. is found to be the oldest name for the species of Commelinaceae usually called Geogenanthus undatus (C. Koch & Linden) Mildbr. & Strauss. The new combination Geogenanthus poeppigii (Miq.) Faden is made.
