Summary Summit Garden in the Panama Canal Zone has been important for its contributions to research in plant introduction and utilization, horticulture and general botanical science. Many famous men of botany have been contributors to its endeavors. Botanical research waned following the war when the Garden became essentially a beautiful public park. With the establishment of Summit Herbarium & Library this year, scientific research is again active at the Garden.
