Summary Pianella Radoičić, 1962, according to the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature (1966), should be considered a later synonym of Salpingoporella Pia, 1918. Consequently, all species which have been assigned to Pianella should be included in the older genus Salpingoporella , which may be defined, essentially, as a Macroporellu but with clearly euspondyl arrangement of the branches.
