Summary The term ‘furuncle’ ( Lat. swelling; adj. furunculate) is proposed for use in describing plant organs having ‘cystoliths' or ‘raphids' as cell‐inclusions, discernible in herbarium specimens as elevated areas on the surfaces of leaves and other organs.
