In this paper the author analyses possibilities of movement from an urban to a rural area. The aim of the movement is: to stimulate employment or self-employment, to solve the problem of accommodation, to decrease depopulation of rural areas, to prevent devastation of existing farms and infrastructure. The proposed paper is based on the empirical research carried out among the twenty respondents whose families had moved from the town to the village. All respondents were married and they had children. The data were collected via a semi - structured interview. Besides the empirical research, the paper also relies on relevant statistical data, as well as scientific and professional literature.
