The article discusses the claim made by the authors of the so called autonomous option in Vojvodina that Vojvodina was excessively burdened with high taxes or even robbed by Yugoslav and Serbian authorities in 1920?s, and consequentially degraded and impeded in its development. Closer economic and historical analysis shows that these claims are not true, and that they are based on ignorance of the tax system, inaccurate data and poor reasoning.
