The paper discusses the migrational characteristics of the population of Vojvodina according to the results of the 2002 census. It analyzes the data about the immigrated population of Vojvodina according to the region from which the population came and according to the time of settlement. The results are compared with the data from other regions of The Republic of Serbia in order to achieve a qualitative evaluation of the process, specially at the time of intensive migrations. The paper analyzes the causes leading to specific migrational tendencies in the area of Vojvodina and points out to the economic and social implications of the realized migrational trends in the preceding period, as well as to the tendencies for their changes in the following period
