Erotic freedom in the philosophy of Georges Bataille

In this paper the author deals with one of the main questions in the complex work of Georges Bataille. The sense and possibility of erotic freedom are reconsidered in immanent framework and with respect to broader philosophical understanding. Through immanent analysis it is shown that Bataille's erotism implies striving for unification and continuity as well as sovereignty transgression of limits, consumption and violence. Contrary to him, the author exposes some relevant ideas of P. Bruckner, A. Finkielkraut, E. Fink and H. Marcuse.
