Our results of surgery of developmental disorder of the hip (DDH) in older children and adolescents by using the combination of Selter?s innominate osteotomy and osteotomy of the superior pubis ramus were presented in this paper, enclosing the period from 1993 to 1995. The study included 11 hips, i.e. 9 patients, aged 8 to 23 years, mean age 13 years at the time of surgery. The mean follow-up period was 8 years. Combined osteotomy was very efficient, what was verified by X-ray findings, confirming the Wieberg?s and acetabular angles, as well as by clinical range of hip motion and gait. In comparison to other similar osteotomies, this method is simpler, less traumatic and carries lower risk.
