The ?New Primitives? is an alternative, and later, a cultural movement that emerged in Sarajevo in the late 1970s and early 1980s; the movement officially ceased to exist in 1987. The most substantial cultural capital of the movement relates to ?Zabranjeno pusenje? (?No Smoking?) band and the radio and television show Top lista nadrealista (Top List of Surrealists), while the biggest individual cultural capital lies with Nenad Jankovic, a phony doctor with the ?erotic? pseudonym of Dr. Nele Karajlic. The subject matter of this article is the authorship and co-authorship of Dr. Nele Karajlic within the ?No Smoking? band and the television show Top List of Surrealists in the cultural space of the socialist Yugoslavia during the 1980s.
