The neutron activation by γ-spectrometry measurement was used to follow hydrometallurgical processes of a realgar ore sample from Vareš area, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Realgar ore disintegration has been performed by dissolving in either sodium hydroxide or sodium sulphide. Realgar ore disintegration by dissolving with sodium hydroxide is not suitable for neutron activation processes. On the other hand, realgar ore disintegration by dissolving with sodium sulphide is suitable and useful for neutron activation processes. It has been found that As2O3 can be successfully separated in an amount of 85 ± 5%
