The article focuses on the origins , the genesis and development of Eurasianism as a special philosophical and geopolitical trends. Particular attention is paid to the role and place of contemporary Eurasianism in the new geopolitical and geo-economic reality of the post-Soviet space. It is noted that the positive factor of mutual complementarity of Eurasian ethnic groups is the main connecting element community of peoples inhabiting the territory of Russia - Eurasia
