Changes of demographic, functional and physiognomic characteristics of Knić were analyzed in this paper. From the demographic viewpoint Knić represents the largest, and according to the functions the most important settlement of the same called municipality. The closeness and direct influence of Kragujevac determined to a great extent the course and level of the development of Knić. The settlement is depopulation with poorly developed functions, the territorial range of which does not exceed the territorial border of the municipality
