This paper deals with the concept of a tourist destination life-cycle and the possibilities of its application to making managerial decisions of destination managers. Fundamental conceptual definitions are presented and a review of the tourist destination typology is given, as well as the basic types of destination development. In accordance with the fact that destinations change the pace of their development over time, and that these variations in the dynamics of development are explained in the existing literature by the transformation of the destination from one stage of its own life-cycle to another, this concept is explained in detail and an evaluation of the possibilities of its application to making managerial decisions at the level of a tourist destination is also given. .
