This article discusses the role of the international community in preventingconflicts and establishing peace, especially after the Macedonian-Albanian conflictin 2001. This article also reviews the process and aid of North Macedonia’sintegration into the Euro-Atlantic structures. The strong presence of the United States and European Union has been needed tomaintain inter-ethnic cohesion in Macedonia. The presence has also worsened theaggravated political situation in the absence of genuine democracy such as the cessation of the Russian and Turkish influences that threatens to turn the countryback to the dark past of a perpetual authoritarianism and will guarantee the countrya widespread and deserved integration in the great European family to which itbelongs.
