Interação entre imperativo e negação (Interaction between imperative and negation)

O trabalho analisa a incompatibilidade entre imperativo verdadeiro e negação pré-verbal a partir dos dados do português europeu (PE) e brasileiro (PB). Demonstro que, no PE (e em outras línguas românicas), essa restrição não ocorre apenas com o marcador negativo, mas também com advérbios negativos em posicão de Spec,NegP, como NUNCA, o que aponta contra análises baseadas em movimento do verbo para CP e a favor de uma versão modificada da análise de Boskovic(2004), de que a incompatibilidade se dá em função de a negação bloquear a adjacência, necessária em PF, entre o verbo e um morfema imperativo abstrato.PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Advérbios Negativos. Português.ABSTRACTThis paper analyzes the incompatibility between true imperative and pre-verbal negation from European Portuguese (EP) and Brazilian Portuguese (BP) data. I show that in EP (and other romanic languages) this restriction does not occur only with the negative marker, but also with negative adverbs in Spec,NegP, like NUNCA. It goes against analyses based in the V-to-C movement account. I defend the adoption of a modified version of Bos?îkovic?ü (2004)'s proposal that this incompatibility is the result of negation blocks the necessary adjacency, in PF, between the imperative verb and the abstract imperative morpheme.KEYWORDS: Negative Adverbs.
