Consciousness among plants has been described from the vedic times. Bio-diversity comprises of both plants and animals. Unfortunately man has been exploiting the nature for his basic needs, which has resulted in the extinction of about 49000 plant species. Plants life activities like respiration, movement, sensitivity, adaptation, secretion, reproduction are performed by the plants which define consciousness in plants.
