In Interest of the Sociologist This article focuses on social relations of power. Bourdieu explains the construction of his concepts of “interest“ and “strategy“. This leads him to an elaboration of his theory of ‘habitus’ in relation to the economic perspective, which is based on the utilitarian theory of action. The article is included as an further explanation of Bourdieu’s definition of his controversial concepts of “interest“ and “strategy“. It takes the form of a lexical manifestation of some of the most important concepts used in the work of his work and by critics, who have accused him of being far too deterministic.
