The article discusses the theoretical problems of the realization of the right to education in the context of the use of digital technologies. The modern legislation is evaluated from the perspective of the possibilities of implementing educational programs using high-tech platforms. The analysis of what impact such a new digital phenomenon of modern society as the metaverse can have on the international community and the population of the Russian Federation in the context of the realization of the right to education is carried out. It is indicated that the technologies used to create it have huge opportunities in the field of realization of the right to education, but also entail numerous risks. The possibilities of improving the legal regulation of the educational process, especially in the format of distance learning, which has received increased relevance due to the spread of coronavirus infection, are being investigated. The article assesses the features of the legal regulation of the educational process using innovative technologies, including the resources of the metaverse and the risks associated with the impact of this process on the academic environment.
