The paper presents a methodology for designing the payload housing (PN), using the example of the PN «pHoton-AMUR 2.0», in the automatic design system (CAD) «Compass-3D». The case was created as a system of passive thermal regulation and shielding from external electromagnetic fields, as well as in order to extend the service life of the PN. When developing the PN body of a small spacecraft, the weight and size requirements were taken into account, as well as the manufacturability of the device. Of the three presented variants of the PN housing, after analyzing their parameters, the optimal one was selected. It is shown that the cOmpass-3D CAD system makes it possible to effectively solve the problems of designing the structures of small spacecraft.
