The article studies the ways to identify the ideas of modern youth about Russia and the world around it. This is a key component of the human worldview, which determines both affective sphere (love for the Motherland) and behavior (willingness to protect, sacrifice oneself or, on the contrary, the desire to emigrate). Surveys - both closed and open, as well as detailed, assuming reasoned answers - are offered as tools for identification. The results of surveys of students from Moscow, Yalta, Donetsk are used. In general, students demonstrate a caring attitude towards Russia, a desire to understand its features, however, negative evaluation are also present, all of it being expressed in the corresponding vocabulary and paremia. The study of the linguistic worldview of modern students is impossible without considering such significant dimensions in cultural studies and linguoculturology as collectivism, individualism and the power distance index.
