The conference discussed a wide range of issues related to the peculiarities of the design and existence of images of “Russianness” in various types of discourse in the Western culture (journalistic, political, artistic, scientific, daily). A special focus was given to the mechanisms of stereotyping, as well as identifying the dependence of the prevailing ideas about Russia and Russians on a number of factors: the specifics of the discourse, the time and source of occurrence, the specific object of discursive representation, the target audience.
