This work represents the first register of Tlacuatzin canescens in the Conservation Area of El Zapotal, in the Northeastern part of the Yucatan Peninsula. The relevance of this article stands in the fact that it gives elements to extend the map of distribution of this monotypical genus (endemic to Mexico) more than 100 km to the East.
