. The article describes a manuscript copy of one famous Buddhist text against backbiting. It is contained in Collection 8 (rare manuscripts) of the Scientific Archive of Kalmyk Scientific Center (RAS). Goals. The paper aims to introduce data on this text from archives of Kalmyk Scientific Center (RAS). Results. This and other texts had been submitted to the institution by Buddhist cleric E. B. Ubushiev. In terms of content, this is a text of the Sutra that Suppresses Backbiting. Similar texts to have circulated among Kalmyk Buddhists used to be quite numerous. Of particular importance are the marks at the end of narrative indicating the year of its recitation — 1954.
