
The Comparative Study of Community-Based Elderly Care in China

The problem of elder care is becoming more and more severe in China. Community-based elderly care is being gradually valued by the government. This paper adopts the content analysis method to analyze and compare four types of community-based elderly care, government-led community eldercare, quasi-public community eldercare, informal community eldercare, private retirement community . After careful analysis, it is found that government-led and quasi-public community eldercare are the principal types of community-based elderly care, andthe quasi-public community eldercare receive much support by government, it is the consequence of pluralist governance in the grassroots and the innovation of community governance model. China will pay more attention to improve the quasi-public community eldercare system.
